Maharashtra Kannadiga’s maiden convention on Mar 17

Mumbai, Mar 13: “With an aim of uniting Maharashtra Kannadiga artists under one roof, the Karnataka Sangha, Mumbai is organizing cultural Kala Mahotsav from March 17 to 19,” said president Surendra Kumar Hegde.

He addressed the gathering during a press meet held at Samarasa Bhavan of the association recently.

Various office bearers, committee members were present at the press meet and briefed about the programme.

With an intention of uniting Kannada artists in the metro, the association has taken this step of organizing Kala Mahotsav. Not only metro, artists from Pune, Nasik, Baroda will also participate in this three day festival. This a programme by artists to artists and all artists should take part enthusiastically, said Surendra Kumar Heggde.

On the occasion various committee presidents were elected: Thonse Vijaykumar Shetty was elected as president for welcome committee, Karnur Mohan Rai as president for cultural committee, Bhaskar Shetty Attur as president for food committee, Chandravathi Devadiga, president for registration committee, Naveen Shetty as president for decoration committee, ST Vijaykumar as president for finance committee and Dayasagar Chowta as president for publicity committee.

Dr Sunita M Shetty, GT Acharya, Thara Bhangera, Vasudev Marnad, Raju Sriyan, Sumangala Shetty, K K Shetty among others were present.
