Mumbai: Veera Kesari Kalavrinda celebrates 34 years

Mumbai, March 25: "People are indebted to the society and this can be paid back only by intellectuals. Hence human beings should try to pay back at least to a certain extent. By honoring talents and artists, indirectly we encourage them and this work has been done by the association," said Diwakar Shetty Mudradi, managing director of Divya Sagar group of companies.

Having served for about 3 and a half decades in the metro, Veera Kesari Kalavrinda celebrated its 34th anniversary at Dr M Vishweshwaraya memorial hall in Matunga west on Sunday March 24.

Subashchandra Heggde, president of Bunts Sangh, Pune-Haveli was the chief guest while Damodar Kunder, working president of Billawa association, Borivili and social worker Surendra Shetty was the guest of honor.

The association has achieved success in paying the indebt to the society and has proved to be a home for talents said Vasthu expert Ashok Purohit wishing association to grow even greater.

On behalf of the Kalavrinda, senior theatre artist PV Ithal, Juliet Pereira were felicitated. Social worker Dinesh Kulal was honored while child artist Vashnavi Shetty was awarded with Prathiba award.

The women’s wing of Veera Kesari Kalavrinda staged a short play ‘Upachara’ by Na Kasturi.

Various dance forms were performed by members of Devadiga Sangh, Mamatha Bhat, Nikita Amin, KajalKunder, Radhakrishna Nrithya Academy artists and Veera Kesari Kalavrinda members.

As part of the entertainment programme, Kalajagattu team staged ‘E Bale Nammavu’ tulu drama directed by Thonse Vijaykumar Shetty.

Ramesh K Shetty Payyar, president of Kalavrinda welcomed the gathering, Naveen J Karkera compered while Ramesh Shivapura delivered the vote of thanks.

Premanath Shetty, Vishwanath Shetty, Gunakar Shetty, vice president, Ramesh Shivapura, chief secretary, Naveen Gulibettu, treasurer, Shyama T Shetty, cultural president, ST Vijaykumar Thingalaya among others were present.
