Mumbai, Mar 29: St Joseph Parish, Mira Road celebrated the Holy Thursday with great preparation and meaning.

Two masses were celebrated at St Joseph’s parish, 6 pm and 8.30 pm respectively in the open ground. Flocks of people participated in the Eucharistic celebration.

Kartaka Goa Provincial Fr Archie Gonsalves broke the Word of God for the faithful. He highlighted on the Priesthood of Christ, the supreme high priest who once and for all offered a sacrifice of himself for our redemption.

He said the Christianity is a religion of love and service. He also gave a call to relive the Eucharistic mystery, to pray for priests and for vocations in the Church. After the Eucharistic celebration there was adoration till midnight in which people took an active part.

It is on Holy Thursday that Jesus had his last supper with his apostles and so it is a day of Eucharist, a day of Priesthood and a day of love because Jesus calls us to do what he has done, to serve others for he had said I have come not to be served but to serve.
