Mumbai: Kannada Cultural Fest held

Mumbai, Apr 4: Kunda Kannada Ballaga, Mumbai along with Kundapur Board High School Old Students Association and Kannada, Cultural Department Bangalore recently organized Kannada Cultural Fest at Takur convention hall, Tandon Road Dombivli East.

Directed by Renukha Bali Udaya Kumar, Kalanikethana Bangalore presented a dance skit Krishna Priya Kanaka and Gejje Hejje art team Bangalore presented Kannada Hasya Natakaotsava.

Renowned comedians of Kannada film industry namely Mysore Ramananda, Bank Janardhan, Vaijyanatha Biradhar, Moogu Suresh, Shivakumar Raardhiya, Apporva, Jaganath, Madhushree, were present on the occasion.

Shriya Dinakar, a youngest pilot and director performed welcome dance and folk dance. The role of Kanaka played by Renukha Bali Udaya Kumar mesmerized the audience. Nagaraj Shanbaug and Asha Naik began the programme with prayer and Nadageethe.

Ulathooru Mohandas Shetty presided over the programme. Social worker M Shanthappa, Susheela Udaya Kumar and others inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. The programme was managed by Shivajji Shetty and Dr Suma Dwarakanath.

Chief engineer of Konkan Railway CBD, Belpur Raghunath Nayak, Meera Kumar internationally recognized artist, Marata Suresh Shetty, Susheela Udaya Kumar, Kenchanoor Shankar from Bangalore were present.

Mohandas Shetty, Raghunath Nayak, M Shanthappa, Dr Shivakumar, Meerakumar, Kenchanoor Shankar Shetty, were honoured with Kalaposhaka Rathna Award.
   
Mysore Ramananda, Bank Janardhan, M N Suresh, Vaijyanatha Biradhar, Renukha Bali Udaya Kumar, Shriya Dinakar, Shivakumar Raardhiya, Apporva were honoured with Kalarathna award.
 
Marata Suresh Shetty released a collection of stories in Kunda Kannada called ‘Hooik Bark’.

Marata Suresh Shetty, Mysore Ramananda, Kenchanoor Shankar Shetty, Meera Kumari expressed their opinions.

“The work done by Kunda Kannada team for the development of language and culture is really appreciable,” said Ulathooru Mohandas Shetty.

Businessman Shivakumar donated Rs 5000 for Udaya Kalanikethan and promised to donate Rs 25,000 for Kannada Cultural Fest every year.

D R Salian, Raghavendra Thoravi, Panduranga S Saraf, Shamsundar, Sathish Chandra Shetty, M K Kamath,J S Nayak, Anupama Shetty, Ramesh Shetty,Ramesh Padiyar, Sharadha Hegde, Pandith Dixith were felicitated on the occasion.
  
Venkatesh Pai was felicitated by Dr Vishnuvardhan Fans Club and Kunda Kannada Team for his cultural contribution.
