New Delhi, Apr 12 (IANS): India's industrial output increased at a snail's pace of only 0.6 percent in February against an expansion of 4.30 percent in the corresponding month of 2011-12, government data showed Tuesday.
The economy was dragged down by lackluster performance of the minning and electricity sectors, an indication that Asia's third largest economy is far from achieving substantially high industrial growth.
The minning output in February declined by by a massive 8.1 percent and that of the electricity segment by 3.2 percent.
However, manufacturing production grew 2.2 percent during the month under review.
