Kalki Koechlin won't direct films

Mumbai, Apr 20 (IANS): Actress Kalki Koechlin, who is married to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, says she would not mind directing plays, but is not interested in going behind the cameras for a commercial film.

"I dont think I have the knowledge of technicality. But certainly in future, I would direct for theatre, but I am not looking to turn director for commercial films. I don't see myself directing films," Kalki told IANS.

"Theatre is something I enjoy the most, so certainly I will direct for it, but I don't know when. Let's see how things fall in place," she added.

The Indian actress of French descent has studied theatre in the past, and she even featured in several plays before foraying into filmdom.

Her latest Bollywood film is "Ek Thi Daayan", which hit the screens Friday.

At a time when Bollywood is witnessing remake after remake, the actress says she would like to be part of remakes of movies like "Pyaasa" or "Mirch Masala".

"When I joined this industry, I watched so many Hindi films. When I learnt about Hindi films, I really started liking them. I would like to be part of remakes of films like 'Pyaasa' and 'Mirch Masala'," she said.
