Dubai : MVCA celebrates 8th annual day

Dubai, Apr 22 : Udenthichim Neketram, Moodbidri Varado Catholic Association (MVCA), along with 13 parishioners celeberated their 8th Annual Day on Friday April 18 at The Indian Academy Al Qusais, Dubai.

The stage program was started with prayer song from the members of Udethichim Neketram and the cultural event kicked off at 12:15 with a prayer dance called Sagle Srastecha ye rasnara by shravani, & Tushara.

Joshve D’Souza, the president of MVCA welcomed the gathering and the chief guest. Further, he thanked all the sponsors, well wishers and most importantly all the association members for their support. Event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp led by President Joshve D’Souza followed by the representatives from 13 parishes of the association. Cyprian Fernandes presented the annual report for year 2012 and 2013.

































































“MVCA has rendered tremendous service to the needy and to the culture. I congratulate all the members of the association and wish them all the best in their future endeavors,” Herman Lewis, the owner of 105.4 FM Radio Spice, chief guest, quoted during his brief speech.

Sponsors were felicitated during the event by the unique souvenir.

Ashuntha Pereira Monteiro’s second short story book “Kadryaso Kanto” was released during the event by the chief guest Herman Lewis.

There were several spot prizes for kids and adult and “Kombo Elam (Bidding)” was done by Lawrence cardoza in a traditional style. Entertaining Skits were performed by Rudolf Sanctis, Lenita Sanctis, Richard Saldanha and Lawrence Cardoza. Dances performed by Lorin D’Souza, Walucha Fernandes, Riyola Sanctis, Liwana Sanctis, Darren Lobo, Denver Nazareth added the charm to the event by their wonderful performances. Music band was played by Golden talent institute, band consisted James Fernandes, Ananda Bandara, Nisha and Joy. They entertained the crowd with wonderful music.

Main attraction for the event was the Konkani drama “Mog Molak Melana” originally authored by William Pinto Padrengi and adapted directed and acted by Ashuntha Pereira Monteiro. Other actors who performed in the drama were Sunil Pinto- Hospet, Walter Sequeira -Siddakatte, Ida Pinto - Sampige, Loyal Nazareth - Hospet, Richard Saldanha-Sampige, Joshve D’Souza -Alangar, Vinay Pinto - Paladka, Joel Correa –Alangar, Vishal Mendonca- Hospet, Arun D’costa- Hospet, Praveen Sequeira -Siddakatte ,Rudolf Sanctis – Sampige, Lawrence Cardoza- Belwai, and Jackson Lobo- Siddakatte. Music for the Drama was composed by well known musician Ajit D’Souza-Petri.

Rudolf Sanctis, Sampige thanked all the people who made it for the event, well wishers and sponsors for the event in his brief vote of thanks. 

Event was compered by Ullas Fernandes, Siddakatte in a unique way and kept the crowd on their toes throughout the event.

Delicious food was provided by Al Shay Resturant Karama with typical mangalorean cuisine.
