Mumbai, Apr 24: Actor Emraan Hashmi is super confident about ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ to become one of the most successful films of the year. As he anticipates the triumph, he chose to celebrate it. What better occasion that the inauguration of Media Cup as media too plays an integral part to make a film work wonders at the box-office.
As per the sources, Emraan arrived at the famous club (studio) in suburbs to launch the Media cup where journalists across all the media houses (print and news channels) including Dainik Bhaskar and Divya Bhaskar, play cricket match against each other.
Emraan came on strike to bat few balls from media-persons and eventually spoke about ‘Ek Thi Daayan’. “I’m happy for the great response my film has garnered so far,” he exclaimed.
When coaxed to divulge some details about the film, Emraan replied, “There is lot of suspense in the film. Anyone could be Daayan (evil human) including me. There could be more than one Daayan also.”
On being probed further whether his role or performance will be over-shadowed by the three powerful female actors Konkana Sen Sharma, Kalki and Huma Qureshi, he quickly reverted, “Overshadow! No way. All the three ladies have performed very well. Konkana is an actor, Kalki is very talented and Huma is a raw actor. Nevertheless, my name is Emraan Hashmi and I will never choose a character which isn’t meaty and powerful. My performance is equally good.”
‘Ek Thi Daayan’ co-produced by Ekta Kapoor-Vishal Bhardawaj and directed by Kannan Iyer was released on April 19.
RSBL sponsored Media Cup Cricket Tournament organized by Media Sports Academy includes 84 media teams will play for over a period of 14 weekends.
