Bangalore, Apr 30: Corporation Bank launched its redesigned branch at Malleswaram and inaugurated SME Loan Centre at Mission Street in the city recently. The redesigned branch and new SME Loan centre are done as a part of Project Sankalp initiated by the Bank in January 2013.
Project Sankalp is the business process re-engineering and organizational transformation journey started by the bank. Through this project the bank aims to build a digitally enabled, customer centric operating model which will help the bank to embark on an accelerated growth path for realizing its vision of emerging as a leading and most admired public sector bank in the country.
The redesigned branch and SME loan centre at Bangalore was inaugurated by Ajai Kumar, chairman and managing director of the bank in the presence of Amar Lal Daultani, executive director of the bank. K Giridhar Shenoy, K Rama Murthy and H S Saini, general managers, executives and customers of the bank were present on the occasion.
Project Sankalp focuses on re-modeling of the existing branches, streamlining the centralized units and re-designing the core processes, strengthening bank’s alternate-channel architecture, developing bank’s human capital and streamlining HR processes and grooming future leaders of the bank in its 18 month journey of transformation.
On a pilot basis for the first phase, the bank’s Malleswaram branch at Bangalore has been redesigned to enhance the customer experience. The branch will have a specially designated staff – Corp Mitra who will help and guide the customers at the Branch. The interiors of the branch have been designed aesthetically and the layouts are demarcated between customer facing and operations work. Automated and Self-service Kiosks have been installed for Passbook printing, cheques depositing and cash depositing. The layout of the branch also includes a convenient and simplified queue management system and sufficient customer waiting area.
The SME loan centre is presently redesigned as part of the project Sankalp. The centre has now been made ‘standalone’ which means the SME loans will be originated, processed and sanctioned at the same place. The work-flow process has been made customer-friendly to reduce the turnaround time and the facility of tracking the application step-by-step is also made available. A special marketing team has been set up to facilitate end-to-end application file preparation with tech-enabled tools to improve the team’s performance.
