Mangalore, Jan 7: A speeding lorry knocked down a pedestrian to death near Chembugudde near Tokkottu here on Friday January 6 late night.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad (35), a resident of Uppala.  He was working in a tin factory at Bunder area here.  On Friday night he was walking towards Tokkottu from Chembugudde when a lorry speeding to the city from Konaje hit him.  As a result he died on the spot.

The Ullal police have registered a complaint against lorry driver Anand in this regard.
