Panaji, Jan 11 (Wednesday - 7-30 pm): Congress president Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to visit goa in the third week of February.
According to All India Congress Committee general secretary Margarette Alva, Gandhi will address huge convention of congress workers during her visit to Goa.
Congress president will also lay the foundation stone for information technology (IT) habitat at Dona Paula, 5 kms away from Panaji. Besides, she will also inaugurate the library block of Goa Medical college, which will be named after the late Rajiv Gandhi.
Alva who was down in Goa on Wednesday met congress ministers, legislators, party executive committee members and had marathon meetings to discuss political situation in the state.
Briefing presspersons she said that the workers convention is a part exercise initiated in the state in which constituency level conventions would be organised by the local party leaders. "All 18 congress legislators and two member of parliaments from the state would look after two constituencies each,'' she said.
AICC general secretary admitted that this is a year when congress has to get into election mode. ``We are doing well in the state and we intend to intensify our programmes,'' she said.
Commenting on the coordiantion with the other alliance partners, Alva said that in Goa, the party is having better coordination with the partners.
