Mumbai, Jun 24: "I am happy that poetry holds a lot to learn. Poetry of young poets whose love for their native picturesque surroundings exemplified in their poetry rekindles my childhood and its memories haunt me immensely," said renowned veteran poet BS Kurkal.
BS Kurkal was speaking during Tulu poets’ session held at Samarasa Bhavan of metro based Karnataka Sangh, Mahim (West) here on Saturday June 22 evening. It was jointly organized by Karnataka Sangh and Sahitya Balaga Mumbai on the occasion of Tulu book ‘Tulu Lipi Barele Baravugu Nirel’ (Write in Tulu script foster literature) authored by Jayakar D Poojary.
Tulu poets Dr Sunita M.Shetty, Shimantoor Chandrahas Suvarna, Sa. Daya, Dr. Karunakar Shetty, Laxminarayan Rai Harekala, Sharada A. Anchan, Ganesh Kumar, Anita Poojary Taccode, Ashok Valadoor and Jayakar D.Poojary participated in the poets’ session at the occasion.
Jayakar D Poojary and B S Kurkal honored all the poets who participated in the poets’ session with poetry book, mementoes and flower bouquets. GP Kusuma moderated the poets’ session.
