Mumbai: Tulu Poets session held at Samarasa Bhavan

Mumbai, Jun 24:  "I am happy that poetry holds a lot to learn.  Poetry of young poets whose love for their native picturesque surroundings exemplified in their poetry rekindles my childhood and its memories haunt me immensely," said renowned veteran poet BS Kurkal.

BS Kurkal was speaking during Tulu poets’ session held at Samarasa Bhavan of metro based Karnataka Sangh, Mahim (West) here on Saturday June 22 evening.  It was jointly organized by Karnataka Sangh and Sahitya Balaga Mumbai on the occasion of Tulu book ‘Tulu Lipi Barele  Baravugu Nirel’ (Write in Tulu script  foster literature) authored by Jayakar D Poojary.

Tulu poets Dr Sunita M.Shetty, Shimantoor Chandrahas Suvarna, Sa. Daya, Dr. Karunakar  Shetty, Laxminarayan Rai Harekala, Sharada A. Anchan, Ganesh Kumar, Anita Poojary Taccode, Ashok Valadoor and Jayakar D.Poojary participated in the poets’ session at the occasion.

Jayakar D Poojary and B S Kurkal honored all the poets who participated in the poets’ session with poetry book, mementoes and flower bouquets. GP Kusuma moderated the poets’ session.

    This was dt22.6.13 at Samarasa Bhavan when I arranged to release my 2nd.book "THULU LIPI BARELE-BARVUGU NIREL<" The Kavigoshti was headed by famous poet Shri B.S.Kurkal and participated by 12 poets(RF:photo number 9 = Mr.B.S. KURKAL addressing as Presiding Poet,Mrs.G.P.KUSUMA(poet and the one who monitered the KaviGoshti), Mr.Jayakar D.Poojary,(myself the author of the book released after the Kavigoshti),Mr Laksminarayana Harekala(Poet),Mrs.Sharada Anchan (poetess),Mr.SimanthuruChandrahasa Suvarna(Poet),Mrs.Anita Poojary(poetess),Dr.Suneeta Shetty( Poetss),Mr.Dayanand Salian (Poet), Mr.Ashok Valadur(Poet), Dr.Karunakara Shetty(Poet),and Mr.Ganeshkumar(Poet).All the participants read their poems written in Thulu Language.They were honored with books and flower by Shri Jayakar D.Poojary through the presiding Poet Shri B.S.Kurkal who at the end gave his impressive address on the occasion. Mrs.G.P Kusuma who was also the one who spoke about the Book " THULU LIPI BARELE" after the release by Shri M.B.Kuckian, the editor of Akshaya Monthly. It was presided by Shri G.T.Acharya and Shri A.B.Shetty was the Chief Guset to inaugurate the book releaseing function held after this Kavigoshti. This was my second book about THULU LIPI which is to help those who desires to learn reading and writing Thulu Lipi. My First book " THULU LIPI THERILE " was released on 28.1.2012 in Mumbai in Devadiga Sangha Dadar by Mr.Umanath A.Kotian ,the then President of the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Mangalore. Both the books are complimentary to each other and help those who seriously desire to learn Thulu Lipi. The books are not available in the market but available at Dhramastala Kshetra book stall, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Mangalore, Govind Pai Sanshodhana Kendra Udupi, Alvas Education in Moodbidri and my self in Mumbai (9869524573) First book is priced Rs.150 and thge scond book is priced Rs.130 and both together for Rs.250.
