Mumbai: Thiya Samaj holds scholarship distribution programme

Mumbai, Jun 25: The metro based Thiya Samaj Mumbai  organized scholarship distribution programme for economically-weaker students at their office located at the central suburb of Ghatkopar (East) here on Sunday June 23.

Thiya Samaj president presided the programme, while the governing council chairman Rohidas S Bangera inaugurated. The governing council members Dr Dayanand Kumbla and Shankar Salian distributed the scholarship donated by Bhavani Sundar to the economically-weaker students at the occasion.


            

            

            

            

            

            

            

            

Chadrashekar R Belchada in his presidential address said that the need of the hour is to up bring children on moral values for harmonious living.  The simplicity in life will help them not to be lured of luxury in getting into debts.  The scholarship is distributed to students in order to help them in their studies.  The inferiority complex of students in this regard is not justified, as the rich students are the first in securing scholarship to excel in studies, said C R Belchada.

Dr Dayanand Kumbla urged the students to foster native culture, mother tongue and community background.  It will lead to promote Indian culture, said Dr Kumbla.

Rohidas Bangera said that the scholarship distribution is organized in order to give fillip to economically-weaker students that the community cares for them.   It’s being organized not to glorify their status instead to support them in their studies.

Thiya Samaj ® honorary treasurer Ramesh N Ullal, joint secretary Mohan B. M, joint treasurer Sundar Ail, west zone regional Committee president Narayan Suvarna, women wing president Chandra Suvarna, east zone regional Committee former president Shailesh Bangera, forerm women wing president Vranda Dinesh, former president K P Arvind, former vice president Sudhakar Ucchil, philanthropist Venkappa Ullal, Sarojini Bangera, Dr Hemalata S, sub-Committee office bearers and community brethrens were present at the occasion.

Thiya Belaku, Kannada bulletin editor Sridar S Suvarna compered the programme.  Sub-editor Babu Belchada proposed vote of thanks.
