New Delhi, Jun 26 (IANS): Delhi residents woke up to a pleasant morning Wednesday with overcast skies. The minimum temperature settled at 27.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average. The Met Office has forecast rain and thunderstorm in some areas.

"The skies will remain overcast with rain and thunderstorm occurring in some areas," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

"The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius," the IMD official added.

Humidity at 8:30 a.m. was 81 percent.

Tuesday's maximum temperature settled at 35.7 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, while the minimum settled at 27.8 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the year.

Monsoon arrived in Delhi a fortnight ahead of schedule on June 16. But the city has not received any rain since then due to a weak phase of the monsoon, the IMD official said.
