Mumbai: World Doctors' Day celebrated at Sanjeevani Hospital

Mumbai, Jul 1: "To take care of ones health in the current world scenario we need proper guidance and treatment from the doctors and health authorities," said Suresh H Shetty, state health minister after inaugurating the World Doctors' day programme at Sanjeevani hospital, near Andheri East, Mumbai on Sunday June 30.

He also said that, “The administrative director of Sanjeevani hospital, Dr Suresh S Rao is one of my close friends, his work should be an example to the whole society. The project organized by association of Medical Consultants, Mumbai (MMC) is a pro-social programme. This programme is important. The Maharashtra government is supporting these type of programmes because people should be educated and live in better health condition."


“The sacrificing tendency is important for the social service. Blood donation is equal to saving life of others. The donation camps must abide by the law," he said.

 "The government has undertaken one more project wherin people owning two wheeler during their license application; it is also made compulsory for them to register for blood and organ donation, after certifying their registration, an approval certificate will be attached to their vehicle. This will be helpful during the time of accidents. The commercialization of blood must also be prevented”, he said. 

“We have come forward to create the awareness about the blood and organ donation in schools and colleges. Even I am an organ donor; this act of mine should be role model to all ministers. We have newly planned for several emergency ambulance services, which consist of  30-45 well advanced medical equipments, doctors and specially trained staffs will be recruited. This service will immediately respond to all incidents. Government will take complete responsibility of this vehicle.  This service will also be provided to rural areas."

On this occasion MMC institute Bipin Pandith and Lalith Kapoor were present on the stage.

Dr Suresh Kumar Rao welcomed, MMC secretary Dr Sujatha Rao, presented the key note address, Dr Debarshis compered the programme.

On this occasion Vijalakshmi S Rao, Dr  Venkatesh were present.

Harshith Joshi of Glasco institution, Andrias Gracings of Phonic India, Dr Shruthi Rao, Keshav Anchan,Kairebettu and several others donated blood on this occasion.

This programme will continue till July 7.
