Rocky Monteiro gets 'Sarathi' award

Mangalore: Rocky M Monteiro, an employee at the BSNL district office  has been awarded with the Bharat Sanchar Sarathi award for the year 2004-05. Karnataka Telecom Circle chief general manager S Ramaganapathi conferred the award at the office auditorium, recently.

Two injured in two separate accidents in Puttur

Puttur: Two people were injured in two separate Jeep accidents, being reported. A jeep driver Puttila Mutthappa was seriously injured in two jeeps collision in Uppinangady. A case has been registered by Uppinangady police station.
In another incident, pedestrian Antony Mascarenhas was injured when he was hit by a jeep near Parladka and was admitted to a hospital. Town police have recorded a case in this regard.

Scooter Rider seriously injured

Puttur: Baptist of Chickmaglur was seriously injured when his scooter overturned near Haradi on the railway station road on Tuesday.

Tourist vehicle rams into wall, four hurt

Puttur:
A four-wheeler carrying tourists dashed against the wall of a house at Aithoor Sunkadakatte trying to avoid a boy who was crossing the road. Eight persons in the jeep sustained injuries. The injured were from Uttara Kannada and were on a tour to Dharmasthala and Subrahmanya. The injured have been admitted to hospitals at Mangalore.
