Governor launches registrations for Mumbai Marathon

Mumbai, Jul 19: The governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan on Thursday July 18 launched the registrations for the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon and half-marathon at a small function at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.

Mayor of Mumbai Sunil Prabhu, event ambassador John Abrahamand representatives of various organizations supporting the event were present on the occasion.

Vivek Singh, joint managing director, Procam, the event organizer told the governor that 40,000 people are expected to participate in the forthcoming Mumbai Marathon to be held on January 19, 2014.

He claimed that participation of increasing number of women in the marathon has brought greater health consciousness in their families and society.
