Two good films can simultaneously run at box-office: Dil Raju

Chennai, Jul 23 (IANS): Telugu producer Dil Raju believes two good films irrespective of the stars involved in them can simultaneously run at the box-office without having to worry about the ringing of the cash registers.

He was referring to upcoming big-budget Telugu films "Yevadu" and "Attarintiki Daaredhi" that are releasing a week apart from each other.

"I don't think the box-office has anything to do with stars and their films. Two films featuring star actors can have a good run at the box-office provided they are good. Remember, 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' and 'Lagaan' released on the same day and went on to be blockbusters," Raju told IANS.

Raju has produced "Yevadu", which features Ram Charan Teja, son of veteran actor Chiranjeevi, in the lead. It is set to release July 31.

"I'm sure 'Yevadu' will be another 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' and 'Attarintiki Daaredhi' will be another 'Lagaan'. Both films will be equally good and will have a good run at the box-office. Their release won't affect each other," he added.

"Attarintiki Daaredhi", which is produced by B.V.S.N Prasad, is set to release Aug 7. It features Pawan Kalyan, brother of megastar Chiranjeevi, in the lead role.
