Mangalore, Aug 1: ABVP on Wednesday July 31 held a rally from Hampankatta circle to the district commissioner’s office demanding strict actions to stop excess fee during CET admission and to cancel the ban of college elections.

On the occasion, students raised slogans against the state government.

Addressing the protestors, ABVP state secretary Ramesh K said "in our state, there are thousands of people waiting to get admitted to engineering colleges. Due to the negligience of the government and the CET centre, aspiring engineering students are facing a lot of problem and the ABVP Mangalore unit demands the government to find a permanent solution for CET related issues."

The supreme court had given orders to stop the CET admission process on July 30 due to which the students who have not finalized their seats are facing trouble.

The students are facing problems of  time shortages as they come from distant places and the students also do not have enough time to quit the allotted colleges and select colleges of their own choice.

As many as 8,772 seats are still vacant in engineering colleges all over the state. In case if Supreme court extends the period, then students can take admission.
