Sunny Friday in Delhi


New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS): It was a sunny morning in the capital Friday with minimum temperature settling a notch above the season's average at 27.5 degrees Celsius. The met department has forecast rain and thundershowers in some parts of the city.

"The skies will remain generally cloudy with rain and thundershowers occurring in some areas of the city," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 85 percent.

"The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 35 degrees Celsius," added the IMD official.

Since the onset of the monsoon in June, the city has recorded 460 mm of rain.

Thursday's maximum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 34.9 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 25.9 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.
