Konkani Bhasha Mandal hosts talent competition

Mumbai, Aug 2: Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Maharashtra (KBMM) recently organized a talent competition at Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Mahim, Mumbai.

The competition was conducted in the singing, dance and elocution categories for seniors, juniors and sub juniors. The groups from Mira Road, Orlem and Mahakali took part in the competition.

The Mahakali unit bagged the trophy with 15 winners. Both Orlem and Mira Road had 10 winners each.

 

KBMM president,  John Dsilva inaugurated the event. Lawrence D'souza Kamani delivered the welcome address. Benedicta Rebello in her speech encouraged the youngsters for showing their talents. Cyril Castelino compered and managed the event along with  Kenny and Vincent Castelino. Henry Saldanha, Mira Road and Victor Concessao entertained the crowd with their beautiful voices. P N Shanbagh, former president of KBMM honoured the guests.

Dance Solo Sub Junior Category: 1st Valonia D’costa, 2nd MiraRoad, Raizel Muntode, Mahakali

    Nice pics and report Ancy. It was great pleasure watching the young ones perform in Konkani. The tremendous response was great and encouraging. In Mumbai other groups should also come forward to encourage these little angels. Great efforts are taken by Mahakali, MiraRoad and Orlem units to promote the little buds and perform really better. Hats off to these trainers, who are really Konkani lovers. More people should come forward to encourage.
