John Abraham has fetish for issue-based films


Chennai, Aug 5 (IANS): John Abraham's ready to release political-thriller "Madras Cafe" is an issue based film and the actor confessed that he likes doing movies that address some of the issue plaguing the society.

"It's important for me to do issue-based films. If 'Vicky Donor' was about a sperm donor, 'Madras Cafe' is also about an issue based story that we can discuss in a press conference after the film's release because currently, anything with regards to the film is likely to be based on speculations," John told reporter Monday here.

Set against the backdrop of Sri Lankan civil war, it has been directed by Shoojit Sircar. It also features Nargis Fakhri in an important role. "Madras Cafe" is set to release Aug 23 in Hindi and Tamil.

"I have dubbed the film in Tamil for people here to watch and understand what is the issue being addressed," said John at a promotional event of the dubbed version of "Madras Cafe" here.

John essays Captain Vikram Singh, a RAW agent, who will be seen in a covert operation in Sri Lanka.
