Mumbai, Aug 9: Puttige Ramesh, former president of Devadiga Sangha, one of the famous social organizations in Mumbai, breathed his last at the A. J. Hospital in Mangalore on Thursday. He was seventy two years old.
Ramesh belonged to Bankimajalu of Mudabidre gudde of Mangalore taluk by origin. He was hospitalized due to minor health problems in the night after taking part in the funeral proceeding of his mother, last week.
He had retired after serving as Regional Manager for Union Bank of India. He was a member of the working committee of Jayashrikrishna Environment Lover’s Committee. He had helped many people to get employment and had developed himself as an image of social service in the society.
He was a resident of West Ghatkoper’s Rishikesh apartment at Rifle range and has left behind a large number of family members besides his wife and two daughters. His last rites will be performed this evening ie August 9, at his residence at Bankimajalu as per his family sources.
Hiriadka Mohandas, president of Devadiga Sangha Mumbai, former presidents Dharmapal U Devadiga, S K Sriyan, J K Moily, K K Mohandas and office bearers of Jayashrikrishna Environment Lover’s Committee have expressed their condolences at the sad demise of Ramesh.
