Madikeri: Avandoor murder case – two arrested

Madikeri, Aug 11:
Rural police arrested two persons in connection with the murder which took place at Avandoor in Madikeri on August 6.

The arrested have been identified as Jeesan Ahmed (20) from Uttar Pradesh and Asfaq (19) from West Bengal.

The duo on August 6 night went to Shivaram’s house and had a fight over money matter. Meanwhile the accused attacked Shivaram and his friend Rajarao from Bangalore with deadly weapons. During the attack, Rajarao was killed on the spot while Shivaram whose condition was critical was admitted to a hospital in Mysore.

The rural police started their investigation and with information from locals, they successfully arrested the accused from Kottamudi.

The accused after the attack looted cash and two mobile phones from the house.

Murder for Rs 2,000

The accused Ahmed and Asfaq were into tile fixing work. Recently in one of the houses built by Shivaram, there were given in-charge of tile work.

The accused had informed that they would charge Rs 12,000 to fix the tiles for which Shivaram agreed. But after completing the work, Shivaram paid them Rs 10,000 and said that he would pay the remaining amount later. But even after several days, Shivaram did not pay them.

The duo who were wandering without any work went to Shivaram’s house on August 6 to collect the remaining amount. When Shivaram denied paying, the accused allegedly attacked them with weapons.

Rural inspector R Devdas Rao, inspector S N Srikanth, C Sandesh, Subayya, Daniel, Lingaraju, Laxmi Prasad Rai, Dinesh, Rajesh and Sunil Kumar were part of the investigation. S P Anuchethan has announced reward for the investigation team.
