Mangalore, Feb 4: 'The 1963 air battle of Madras', an article written and displayed by city-based Dr Arunachalam Kumar on a website, has been chosen by an animation film producer to be converted into a children's cartoon. Dr Kumar has authored five books and over 150 articles for newspapers and magazines in India and abroad. He has author of five books, including one on medical science, 'ABC pocket book of embryology’ and is a visiting professor in Kuwait University.

A professor of Anatomy with over 26 years of teaching and research experience Dr Kumar’s article is one among the over 500 short stories and commentaries written for the portals.
 
He is the recipient of the district Rajyotsava award for medical service and TMA Pai Gold Medal for medical research.

An avid researcher, Dr Kumar will shortly take over as vice-dean (academic) at K S Hegde Medical Academy in Mangalore.
