Panaji, Feb 6: Going by the assurances of union minister for chemicals, fertilizers and steel Ram Vilas Paswan, reservations in the private sector would be a reality soon.

"Union government is committed to bringing about reservations for weaker section in private sector,’’  Paswan said here on Sunday.

Paswan said,"The public sector is getting converted into private sector, rendering the seats dereserved. Reservations end after the conversions.’’

Paswan rubbished the hue and cry raised over the reservation issue stating that SC and ST reservations are necessary for the overall development of the downtrodden communities. "Their development is enshrined in the Indian constitution,’’ he quipped.

Supporting his claim further, Paswan said that the issue of Naxalites prevails only because of frustration and unemployment amongst the youths. "Developed areas do not have Naxalite problem,’’ he commented.
