Incentives for Haryana doctors


Chandigarh, Aug 24 (IANS): The Haryana government has decided to give regular incentives to its doctors for encouraging them to serve the people better.

"There is a proposal to start assured surgery programme under which an incentive of Rs.15,000 would be given to the general hospitals and the teams exhibiting outstanding performances," said Chief Parliamentary Secretary Ram Kishan Fouji.

"Evaluation of performance of hospitals would be done after every six months. To encourage the doctors and specialists serving efficiently in government hospitals, an incentive of Rs.3,000 per month would be given," he said.

Haryana has also introduced 24-hour laboratory, X-ray and ECG facilities in government hospitals.

"We have also made provision to avail the services of private doctors as per the need. Also, there is a provision to provide an advance amount of Rs.10,000 to each surgeon for meeting immediate expenditure in operation theatres," said Fouji.
