Mumbai, Aug 25: Mumbai University, department of Kannada organized a writing workshop on internet, in collaboration with association with Wekipeadia at Ranade Bhavan, Kalina campus, Vidhya Nagari, Santacruz (East) here on Friday August 23.
The metro-based Ronida Press Media Private Limited chairman www.daijiworld.com Maharashtra bureau chief Rons Bantwal inaugurated the workshop. Dr G N Upadhya, head of department of Kannada, Mumbai University presided over the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Rons Bantwal said that the technological marvels are taking place every minute, while it is the greater need to change with the times. The technology is driving the media in unbelievable speed than earlier centuries. Wekipeadia is driving the world sustaining different languages in all forms. If one makes the optimum use of this, it is easier for one to respond globally, said Rons.
V Ga Nayak in his talk on how to develop writing said that one who finds happiness in writing throughout his lifetime will be happier. One who shuns sleep can become real writer. One should put his inner thoughts like Valmiki. There is no need for rhythm, glamour etc, but it should be crisp and lucid, he added.
Dr Pavanaja, former senior scientist of Baba Atomic Research Center (BARC), writer and now serving with Wekipeadia conducted the workshop on internet. He urged the gathering to use Kannada in internet applications. Wekipeadia is an organization run by the people, for the people, an world encyclopedia, said Dr Pavanaja.
Writer Laxmi Venkatesh, journalist Sitalaxmi Karkikody were present.
