Use technology to educate children: President

New Delhi, Aug 30 (IANS): President Pranab Mukherjee Friday asked universities to use technology to reach out to students who don't have access to education due to geographic or economic limitations.

"Many bright students are prevented by geographic location or economic difficulty from seeking higher education," said Mukherjee while delivering the fourth foundation day lecture of Central University of Orissa.

He spoke through video conferencing from the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

"Our universities must use technology solutions like e-education to address the problems of accessibility, quality, affordability and faculty shortage," the president added.

"Accessibility and affordability will result in greater inclusion. It will improve the enrolment rate and enhance the quality of graduates produced," he said.
