One dead in Delhi factory fire


New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS): A 23-year-old man was killed and four were injured in a fire that broke out Friday night in a factory producing motorcycle parts in Delhi, the authorities said Saturday.

The factory, situated at Bawana in north Delhi, caught fire around 8.40 p.m. Two fire tenders doused the blaze in over an hour. The reason for the fire is not yet known.

Mukesh along with Harishchandra, 22, Pankaj, 35, Manveer, 30, and Sonu, 18, was rushed to Maharishi Valmiki hospital where he was declared dead due to 100 percent burn injuries.

Harishchandra had received 90 percent burn injuries, Sonu 60 percent, Pankaj 40 percent and Manveer had received 20 percent burn injuries.

All the injured worked as labourers in the factory.
