Mangalore, Feb 16: The thieves who broke into one Purushottam Shenoy's house at Chilimbi near here have decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 80,000 on Wednesday February 15.

Purushottam owns a shop at Chilimbi.  He was in his shop during the day on Wednesday when the thieves broke into the house.  There was no one else in the house.  So it is suspected that the thieves could be from the same vicinity.

Purushottam had gone home for lunch in the afternoon.  So the theft has taken place between 2 pm and 7 pm.
The thieves broke into the house after breaking open the back door.  They have stolen 20 sovereigns of gold. 

A complaint has been filed in the Kadri police station in this regard.
