Udupi, Feb 16: Senior criminal advocate Shivaji Shetty (65)has been admitted to the  KMC Hospital at Manipal after he sustained critical injuries in a road accident at Manjotti of Kondadi near Hiriadka here on Monday Tuesday February 14. His condition is said to be causing concern.

Shivaji Shetty along with three other friends was on his way to Karkala from the city in his Ford Icon car when a Mahindra pickup van rammed into their car.  As a result Shivaji Shetty who was sitting in the front seat sustained serious injuries in his head.  His right leg too is fractured badly in the accident.  Though he is recuperating in the KMC Hospital, the sources said that his state is still critical.

The Hiriadka police have registered a case in this regard.

Shivaji Shetty has had a tryst with tragedies for long.  Over the past years, his entire progeny family has been eliminated by accidents. 

While his eldest son Ashwin Shetty died in a road crash at Bangalore, his second son, Gautam, was killed in an accident that took place at Balaipade near Udyavar Church on the National Highway 17. 

As though that was not enough, some years ago, his daughter was run over by his own car while he was moving it in reverse direction in his house yard.
