Will decide PM candidate after talks: Rajnath

New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS): BJP's prime ministerial nominee for the 2014 general elections would be announced after "talking to everyone", party president Rajnath Singh said Thursday.

"We will decide after talking to everyone," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh told a news channel.

Party spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi added: "Discussions are going on and we will announce the nominee soon. There is no contradiction in the party on who will be the prime ministerial candidate. All is well."

According to party sources, there is a broad agreement on the name of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the party's prime ministerial candidate.

A formal announcement may be made Friday when the BJP parliamentary board meets to approve Modi's candidature.

But a major concern for Rajnath Singh is to convince senior leaders L.K. Advani along with Sushma Swaraj, who are of the opinion that a decision on Modi's projection as prime ministerial candidate should be taken after the assembly polls in five states, said sources.

In case a general consensus among the parliamentary board does not emerge, Rajnath Singh can also make an announcement even without a parliamentary board meeting as he has the power to do so.

Advani criticised for not supporting Modi

Former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi has criticised senior leader L.K. Advani for not supporting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate.

"Advaniji has failed to gauge the public mood. Advaniji himself declared Atalji as PM candidate. Now also he could have done the same for Namo (Narendra Modi)," Sushil Modi wrote on Twitter Wednesday night.

Nearly a month ago, the Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) passed a resolution to declare Narendra Modi as the party's prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 general elections.

A BJP leader said that a few months ago, Sushil Modi was considered close to Advani and was a vocal supporter of the party patriarch within the BJP. But the changing equation in the party in favour of Narendra Modi forced him to take an anti-Advani stand.

Hello Dude shahnawaz, dubai/udupi, I read your sensible and sentimental comment, although here we have to comment on the topic that is "Will Decide PM Candidate" after talks: Rajnath" and not on other people's comments, but still we will give you few facts about the things you have mentioned, first you are an Indian and then muslim, don't confuse nationality with religion, religion and faith of god are private matters, be a proud Indian. I agree with you BJP is a communal party associated with RSS, but there are good leaders and few honest people in that party, but have no voice, regarding your statement that no muslim except the families of Muktar Naqvi, Shahnawaz Hussain, Anwar Manipady will vote for BJP today, is wrong, during 2008 Karnataka assembly election many muslims & catholics in Dakishna Kannada & Udupi, Bellary, Chithradurga & northen Karnatka district have voted for BJP, it is a known fact, in Gujarath BJP has won in Muslim dominated areas, in Goa were 30%are catholic, and many muslims who have not voted for BJP have voted them, which BJP won handsomely. But minorities have learn't a lesson, not vote for BJP, Muslims are close to Congress, as you say they feel secured under that party, but you should realize what has it benefited muslims? majority of muslims are still backward, illiterate, living under poverty line, what has congress done to them, nothing just vote bank politics, its high time to stand up and help your own community, than depending on these worthless corrupt politicians, so look for party which is clean, non corrupt, at present Aam admi Party is the right choice, we request all my Indian voters regardless of their religion, faith, gender, to vote for a New party and the candidate they trust, than saying we are safe under congress or BJP etc.
I hope common sense prevails with these voters. And they make right choice in yr 2014 Lok Sabha election

I do not think India ever had such a controversial political leader in the history of Indian politics. Rejected and hated by majority of Indians.

Ours is a Democracy. Anybody can agree or disagree. The choice is very easy and cozy. Mr. L.K. Advani is neither an arrogant person nor adamant. He knows the ground reality. Country cannot run nor did it run. It is at its own course. While Mr. Atal B. Vajpayee was making peace with Pakistan and Bangladesh he was beaten from his own back yard. When noticing it was too late the wheel-chair government couldn’t move to Kargil scores of soldiers died. Mr. Vajpayee and his gang were giving lectures and sermons to congress and the legacy of sermons and lectures from the big mouths is not yet finished even after getting lessons.

BJP (RSS) is against women coming to power or holding good positions. - otherwise they would have definitely made Sushmaji PM candidate, who is 100 times better candidate and knowledgeable and level headed than Modi.
Modi is only good for creating hyped news and terrorising Gujarthi weaker sections (including Poor Gujarathis\minorities)

Our one and only A.B. Vajpayee knew about Modi and now Advaniji also along with few others is not happy to announce Modi as PM candidate.
No other BJP candidate is going to agree to RSS demands except Modi!!!

Finally, if they insist on Modi and finally make others agree by force, the simmering molten lava underneath will keep boiling, occasionally erupting until it comes to erupt with a bang...

In a way it is good for other political parties this kind of dissent among the stalwarts of BJP. This is all happening just because RSS is taking over BJP openly!!!

Currently Modiji is the most popular leader in the country, (all surveys published shows that) we are banking on his ability to do development. Gujarat is enjoying 24 hrs electricity and excess selling to other states and making profit. We saw what congress did in last 10 years, there was number of corruption issues most of them authorized by PM due to pressure from party president. We want to see Advaniji as prime minister for at least for 2 years, only reason is he made way for Atalji as PM, in spite of he is main architect for BJP come to power.

Not only PM post, FEKU should not be appointed/considered for ministerial berths like Defence, Home, Foreign Affairs etc. (IF BJP FORMS GOVT. IN CENTER (?)), because these berths are most sensitive in Govt and FEKU doesn’t know WHAT to speak & HOW to speak. He know spreading hatred only & he will put Nation in risk, if he is given above mentioned ministries.
INDIA is a large democratic country, not a small state, where people are least bothered about Governence. (most of the Gujjus are wealthy people & don't seek any support from Govt. They are self developed people, and FEKU is simply taking credit)

RSS is misleading the nation. only VHP and RSS cadres want to name Feku Modi as the PM candidate with hindu agenda with their own created online surveys, where these sangh parivar members only cast their votes. Ironically Feku is still mum on the allegations made against him by his own officers and he is busy attacking Gandhi family and PM. This shows he has no real issues and no plans for future India.

BJP has proved its credentials of being communual by destroying babri masjid, carrying out blasts in Mecca masjid, Ajmir Dargha, Malegoan masjid..by talking about bringing in about uniform civil code, burkah bans, dress code in educational institutions, anti cow slaughter bill,defending Godhara carnage, defending sex swamis, opposing hajj subsidy and opposing any move of welfare of indian minorities. BY doing this BJP has projected itself as Pro right wing Communual party of India.. and Indian muslims seek security and peace and they look for a national party thats not communual but doesnt harm them though bring no good to them. We prefer to have a corrupt coalition at center to have communual and hate party ruling us.. so no muslim except the families of Muktar Naqvi, Shahnawaz Hussain, Anwar Manipady will vote for BJP today or in the future..Without Muslim votes no party shall form the govt at state or center as mulsims are 25% of Indian population..They cant be ignored..We need peace and nothing else..I dont want to fight with my hindu brother and neighbour and I want to live with him in peace and love and its possible only when we have non BJP govt at state and center. and for this karntaka is gud example as we dont have masjid, mandir and church attacks and no more love jihad and no more fake kidnapping and encounters...we live in peace and enjoy the peace and we love our town, our people and human beings,, thats the difference of having BJP and congress rule..

I am BJP supporter and i am Christian, i support BJP because love my country, i want least corruption and need development. However, I dont understand why the US government has only banned Modi from obtaining a US visa after denying him a diplomatic visa which he applied for in 2005 and at the same time also revoked the tourist/business visa he was holding at that time. Advani thinks that naming Modi prior to 5 state elections will polarize Muslim votes. But the BJP veteran has forgot that Muslim vote is already polarized in India. Age problem. Its true that Muslims will not vote for BJP even if Atal Bihaari Vajpayee comes form the deathbed and stands for election for PM post. So there is no point in BJP playing vote bank politics like congress. Let BJP name Modi as PM candidate and then automatically majority Hindu votes will polarize (this is the exact fear of congress and its modiphobiC supporters). In India only Majority votes are not polarized that's why congress is coming to power despite their Double master degree in corruption otherwise if we were united then no party has a chance against BJP. You & me are novice in front of LK Advani’s political experience, until a few months back Advani was a Bhisma for many Sanghis.
Advani’s fear will be true and it his apprehension is due to feku’s history in many states where he campaigned. You can take Karnataka as an example and even in North East states, Feku will split votes of secular Hindus who are large in numbers due to his communal credentials. India cannot and will not choose a communal bigot as a PM.
At any cost, NDA will not majority and no allies will support feku and paving the way for UPA-3. Hope you will understand that even a communal sensitive district like DK didn’t heed to the request of Feku do you think others will vote for him?
Vanzara’s letter is an example how government machineries are used by feku to settle scores and ute his communal agenda. No sane person will support a communal bigot.
