Kundapur: Man arrested for illegal timber transport

Kundapur, Sep 17: Forest officials arrested a man and seized the truck in which he was  illegally transporting timber.

On receiving authentic information that illegal transport of timber is taking place in Jadkal – Maddur road, officials stopped the truck near Hulipare and on interrogation it was learnt that the timber was being transported without a permission.

Harish Shetty from Devalkunda, owner of Mahavishnu earth movers was transporting timber illegally in his truck which was meant to transport mud. He was transporting 25 CFT timber towards Kundapur.

The operation was carried out by forest officer Subrayya, forest conservator Shivakumar, Santhosh and A Shivayya under the guidance of Kundapur ACF Manjunath Shetty and DFO R Ravishankar.

Officials arrested Harish Shetty along with his truck worth Rs 12 lac and timber worth Rs 50,000.

    kya baat hai, truck worth of 12 lakh for 50 k illegal wood ??
    well, if some one carry illegal wood on rail does they confiscate - full train ?? it is just question ?
