Panaji, Feb 24: Goa’s well known painter Chandrakant Shankar Kerkar, who painted various portraits currently put on display in Goa’s old secretariat, passed away on Wednesday.

He was 82 years old.

He was awarded the state honour by the Government of Goa. He painted portraits of national leaders, which are hanging in Goa’s old secretariat.

Through his various works he depicted village life of Goa.
