Hyderabad, Sep 23 (IANS): It's a festival day for us, was how YSR Congress party honorary president Y.S. Vijayalakshmi reacted to her son and party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy being granted bail by a special court here Monday.

Vijayamma, as Vijayalakshmi is popularly known, thanked people who stood by the family and the party since he was arrested in May last year.

Talking to reporters outside their posh Lotus Pond residence Monday evening, a beaming Vijayamma said Jagan got bail because of the blessings of the God and the support of the Telugu people.

Celebrations broke out in YSR Congress party camp as a large number of party activists gathered outside the party office here.

As the news broke out about the court granting bail to Jagan, as the MP from Kadapa is popularly known, his supporters distributed sweets and burst crackers in Hyderabad and other parts of the state.

Vijayamma, Jagan's wife Y.S. Bharathi, sister Sharmila and other family members greeted each other. Top leaders of the party were also seen congratulating each other.
