BJP warns Uttar Pradesh govt against implicating party workers

Lucknow, Sep 23 (IANS): The BJP Monday warned the Uttar Pradesh government against implicating its legislators and workers in false cases and threatened a massive agitation.

The party staged sit-ins at all district headquarters and demanded that the government stop appeasement of the minority community.

The BJP leaders demanded the arrest of the alleged killers of Sachin and Gaurav - the two youths who were killed in Muzaffarnagar Aug 27, leading to communal clashes.

State BJP president Lakshmikant Bajpayi said if the government failed to treat every citizen of the state in a fair manner the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch a major offensive.

Party activists and leaders submitted memorandum addressed to President Pranab Mukherjee to the district magistrate, urging dismissal of the Akhilesh Yadav government.
