New Delhi, Mar 2: Contending that New Delhi sought a neighbourhood of peace and prosperity, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday said India and the US should fight terrorism wherever it existed as it threatened democracy everywhere.
   
"We seek a world free of poverty, ignorance, disease and the threat of terrorism. The US and India must work together in all possible fora to these ends," he said welcoming President George W Bush and First Lady Laura Bush at a banquet hosted by him in their honour.

He said that India wanted a neighbourhood of peace and prosperity, and added while the sub-continent had been home to all great religions, it was a "powerhouse" of human creativity.

Meanwhile, Bush said India and the United States should share intelligence on terrorists to weed out the scourge.

"There is a need for intelligence agencies (of India and the United States) to share information and weed out terrorism," he said addressing a joint press conference with Manmohan Singh after over 100 minutes of talks with him on a wide range of issues.

"I will bring the same message to Musharraf (to share information between the intelligence agencies) to fight terrorism," Bush, who is visiting Pakistan on Saturday, said.
