Sack Rahul for outburst against ordinance, says BJP

Kolkata, Oct 1 (IANS): The BJP Tuesday demanded sacking of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for "insulting the nation" for his outburst against the ordinance on the issue of disqualifying law-makers.

A day after Congress president Sonia Gandhi charged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with making fun of the prime minister, BJP president Rajnath Singh said here that it was Rahul Gandhi who "mocked and insulted the PM and the nation" and he should be sacked from his post.

"I am surprised at her (Sonia) statement. It's not the BJP but their own party vice president who mocked and insulted the PM and the nation. If she is so concerned, then she should immediately sack him," Rajnath Singh told mediapersons here.

Sonia Gandhi Monday said at a rally near Bangalore: "They make fun of our party, they make fun of our prime minister. The whole (Congress) party stands behind the prime minister."

Rajnath Singh also said that Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the whole nation for calling a cabinet-approved ordinance "complete nonsense" which should be "torn up and thrown away".

Rajnath Singh said it was an insult of the prime minister and the nation as a whole.

"By questioning the credibility of the prime minister at a time when he is representing the nation on a foreign soil, Rahul Gandhi has defeated the very purpose of the prime minister's foreign visit. His act has embarrassed the entire country. He should be made to apologise publicly," the BJP president said.

Asserting that the BJP was opposed to the controversial ordinance approved by the cabinet to shield convicted lawmakers since its inception, Rajnath Singh urged President Pranab Mukherjee not to give his assent to it.

"We demand that the ordinance be immediately withdrawn. But then the damage has been done and the withdrawal will not salvage the situation," said Rajnath.

    Mr. Prem,
I fully agree with Mr. Dinesh Poojary. FYI I did visit Gujarat. It is strange that you people are blindly believing the dynasty rule with a conviction that there is no other better person to rule this country. MMS is just a puppet and Sonia and Amul Baby are just using him. Did Rahul and Sonia work in any company as clerks at least???? to dream of PM's position. They are there as foreign agents thanks to you congi supporters. This is the reason why Indian infrastrcture, poverty, law & order, admn. system, judicial system are so bad that a common man cannot call our country as even developing country... forget about developed country.

MMS is a highly respected and PM both nationally and internationally, India has ever seen. Day in and day out BJP is insulting, mocking, insiniuating and attacking him. Insulting such a democratically elected Head of the State, is not an insult to the nation and people elected him. Is not Modi having any other issues to talk during his rallies. In fact BJP should apologise to the nation for such an insult. As an ordinary citizen. RG has expressed his views on the ordinance and it is proper in a democracy. Modi's utterances in the rallies are undemocratic, undignified and not befitting to a PM waiting candidate. He should exercise restraint on his words, otherwise he will miss the bus.

I am not a supporter of BJP or the congress. A question for blind supporters of congress who are commenting just for the sake of it -If it were any other person who had the said the same thing in public as Rahul did, what would have congress done ? In my view they would have sacked the person for 6 years for indiscipline. Do they have the guts to sack Rahul for indiscipline ? BJP had the guts to ask Advani to resign for praising Jinnah which was perceived to be indiscipline. So the dynasty rules and the rest are slaves

    @ Prakash, Kundapur
First & foremost, I need not learn sensibility lesson from you.
Secondly, you are talking about FEKU’s developments (?) on the basis of his FAKE statistics.
Have you ever been to Gujarat?. Gujarat is one of top 10 states with regard to crime & corruption unfortunately it doesn’t come in front of media (because of money & political power). That is why FEKU is worried to appoint Lokayukta there, to keep himself safe.
Gujarat was wealthy state even before FEKU became CM there (even Advani admitted it openly). Most of the leading businessmen of the nation are from this state & they all are self-developed. They never rely on Govt.
Also some leading Corporate houses in Gujarat are spending lot of money on FAKU & doing free marketing for him & highlighting him in the name of development, for their personal benefits. Let FEKU become PM, then you will see FEKU dancing to the tunes of wealth business tycoons.

    Hello Prem
The whole country is applauding Mr. Modiji for what he has achieved in Gujarat. You and all congi supporters should accept that and move on. Congi supporters can see only 2004 Godhra riot and not the peace and prosperity folourishing for more than 10 years thereafter in Gujarat.

No one is interested in listening to your feku comment. Now you will see one by one following Lalus and Masoods to jail from the congress party and its supporting alliances, for all that gotalas they have done in 2G, CWG, Coal, Railgate, Adarsh society, land scam, sand mafia etc., etc.,

So, it is wise for you and your congi supporters to go with the BJP wind and look for a better tomorrow under the leadership of Modiji..... So relax for the better and be a sensible Indian.

What you did to resolve the discord between Advani and Modi?
Rahul spoke against very dangerous ordinance that shields tainted law makers!
In the interest of the nation, you should have praised Rahul for speaking against his own party and Govt for the benefit of people.
