Odisha fishermen warned of rough weather

Bhubaneswar, Oct 2 (IANS): Odisha's fishermen were Wednesday alerted against gusty winds and rough sea along and off the coast in the coming days, an official of the Bhubaneswar meteorological centre told IANS.

A low pressure area that had formed two days ago over coastal belt of the state and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal lay over south Chattisgarh and neighbourhood, added the official.

As a result, surface wind speed reaching 25 to 30 kilometres per hour gusting to 40 kilometres per hour is likely to prevail along and off state coast.

According to a weather official, sea conditions would be moderate to rough. Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing out into sea.

The weather official said heavy rain and thundershowers would occur over many places of the state during next two days.
