Mumbai: Videocon gifts Merc to Malaika home appliances company

Mumbai, Oct 3: Malaika multi-brand electronic retail store of Malaika appliances private limited which is prominent in the metro and Dakshina district for offering various products to customers was gifted with a Mercedes Benz car for selling a variety of Videocon home appliances at a discount price with best service in the year 2012-13.

The Mercedez car was gifted during the Annual awards ceremony organized by Videocon Company at Lalith Internation hotel, Sahara, Andheri (east) held recently.

The car was handed over to Gilbert Baptist, managing director of Malaika group of companies by Anirudh Duth, managing director of Videocon group of companies.

Jyothi Shekar, CEO of Videocon, regional head Zulfi Butto, sales head R M Dungarval among others were present.

Gilbert Baptist hails from Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada district. Having received a degree in electrical engineering from Mangalore, he served as a sales and service engineer in Kirloskar Cummins limited at Pune.

Later, he started his own business by setting up a electronic components manufacturing company at Powai through which he used to render electronic components to companies like Sony, Videocon, Onida, Sharp and others. He has won customers hearts by providing multi-brand products to its customers in Metro as well as Dakshina Kannada.

Presently he is the president and managing director of Malaika appliances private limited along with ‘Yosoma’ manufacturing company.
