Mumbai: Bharat Bank elects new board of directors

Mumbai, Oct 6: The elections for new board of director of Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited, a multi-state scheduled bank was held at Billavar Bhavan Auditorium, Santacruz (East) here on Saturday October 5 evening.  Bharat Bank is promoted by metro based Billavar Association.

The co-operative societies additional registrar A K Chavan offered the motion in the presence of Billavar Association honourary president Jaya C Suvarna and president L V Amin on the occasion.

A K Chavan briefed the proceedings that got to be held as per state Co-operative Societies Act for electing the board of directors and announced the names of new directors.

Twenty-one new directors were elected, among them ten were from ordinary division – Amin Somnath Babu, Kotian Ashok Muttappa, Kotian Vasudev Raju, Kuckian Mahabala Buba, Kundar Damodar Chandu, Mulki Harishchandra Gudda, Poojary Chandrashekar Somappa, Poojary Gangadhar Jarappa, Poojary Koragappa Booba, Poojary Raghu Dugganna, Poojary Shivaji Uppoor, Salian Bhaskar Muddu, Suvarna Jaya Chandu, Suvarna Rohit Mohanchandra and Suvarna Suryakant Jaya, from Schedule caste and Schedule Tribe Harijana Anbalagan Chinapillai, from women category Salian Pushpalatha Narsappa and Salian Rohini Jarappa,  from banking experts division: Kotian Jaya Aithappa and Suvarna Narayana Karnad, A K Chavan and Sandeep Deshmuk along with Bharat Bank CEO and MD C R Mulky announced the latest list of new directors and distributed the certificates to them.

C R Mulky welcomed the gathering. The bank deputy general manager Nityanand D Kotian compered the programme and proposed vote of thanks.

The exiting-directors Raja V Salian, Jyoti K Suvarna, M B Sanil, Mohan G Poojary, Chandrashekar S Poojary, Shankar D Poojary, Jagannat V Kotian, Ratan U Sanil, the bank’s top officers were also present on the occasion.

The programme began with prayer song in worshiping Lord Ganesha and concluded with national anthem.

    We wish all the best to the new directors. Bharat Bank has a bright future.
    Incidentally, we too are members of the bank. But we did not receive the notice of the election. If we received the notice, we would have certainly taken part in the election. Can some one explain / comment?
