Surat, Oct 6 (PTI): Fresh sexual assault complaints have been registered against controversial self-styled godman Asaram Bapu and his son Narayan Sai here after two sisters accused the duo of abusing them.

Asaram, 75, was arrested in August on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl and has been in prison at Jodhpur in Rajasthan since then.

"We have registered two complaints, one against Asaram and another against Narayan Sai of sexual assault, illegal confinement and other charges," Surat Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said today.

"The victims are two sisters," he said.

The complaint against Narayan Sai has been registered at Jhangirpura police station in Surat, while the one against his father Asaram has been transferred to Ahmedabad as the alleged incident happened there, Asthana said.

The police will question Narayan Sai in connection with the complaint shortly, he said.

The older sister in her complaint is understood to have accused Asaram of sexual assault, while the younger one filed a complaint against his son. The incidents reportedly happened between 2001 and 2006.

Mr. Bollu, I did not see anywhere, Mr. Langoolacharya bringing religion in Asaram's issue. Please do not defend the heinous crime of Asaram and his son who has committed grave sin to people of his own religion. He has betrayed their faith and trust in him and has brought disgrace to his religion. In such case, you should demand severe punishment to him instead of justifying his misdeeds saying it happens in other religions as well. Mr. Bollu, let us keep aside religion and punish those guilty instead of supporting them. If we support such Monsters only because they are from our religion, it will encourage them to do more evil. Asaram Bapu, N D Tiwari, Raghavji of M.P, all have philophilia disease, which contracts only men after the age of 45-50 yrs. This disease has no medicine. Even though this is a psychological problem, it is surmised that this is developed due to mal-functioning of prostate glands. Still much is not known about this disease so there is no information available in Wikipedia.
