Moodbidri, Oct 16: The robbery of idols case from Basadi Siddantha Mandira is pertaining to four states consisting of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Chattisgad. The seven invaluable idols are still not traceable.

Moodbidri Charukeerti Bhattaraka Panditacharyavarya Swami had gone on hunger strike on October 2 to draw the attention of the government for speedy investigation of the case. The chief minister had promised to hasten investigation in response to the hunger strike. The assurance gave some consolation to the disciples, Jain community leaders and investigation advisory committee.

However the meeting by the Samanvaya committee held on October 5, and October 10 at Bhilay Chattisghad, opined that the continuing delay tactics of the investigating team will further delay the seizure of the missing idols. So it was proposed for a mass hunger strike near Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.

D A Patil, C P Jain, Sudheer Jain, Pankaj Jain, leader Bimal Jain, Samanvaya committee, Anil Jain Katmandu, Nirmal Kumar Sethi, Gajendra Patni Raipur and Balwantrai Jain were present as per the information provided by Swami Bhattaraka.

Letters are written to Udupi MP Jayaprakash Hegde and Central petroleum minister Veerappa Moily by Swami expressing his desire to hand over the case to CBI. A copy of their communication to the home minister drawing his attention in the matter is sent to Swami Bhattaraka.

CBI inquiry should have conducted long time back, government is unnecessarily delaying thing in the influence of powerful politicians.

all the people behind this event should be punished and same old situation should be restored in temple.
