Puttur, Oct 20: Fr Assisi D’Almeida, the ICYM director of Puttur Varado, inaugurated the new ICYM Unit at Kadaba Church, on Sunday October 20.

The inaugural function was held soon after the mass at 9.30. 

In his message, he highlighted the role of the parents and elders in nurturing the youth unit. “It is not the number that counts but it is the commitment of the members. Even a small active group can work wonders in a parish,” he said.

Fr Alexander Lewis, the parish priest, congratulated the newly appointed president James D’Souza and other office bearers of the unit and thanked Fr Elias D’Souza for mobilizing the youth and playing instrumental role in the formation of ICYM in the parish.

Fr Champakara, the guest priest; Joseph Veigas, the parish vice-president; Anil Pais, the Puttur Varado president and Viyon Fernandes, the Varado Amcho Yuvak representative, were present on the dais.

Sandeep Mascarenhas welcomed, James D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks and Anish Lobo compered the program.
