Islamabad, Oct 22: The Pakistani film 'Waar', released during the Eid festival, has set a new record at the box office with a collection of Rs 40 million during the three days of Eid.

The movie depicts the spread of terrorism and is an action thriller directed by Bilal Lashari, produced and written by Hassan Waqas Rana; the film stars Shaan Shahid, Meesha Shafi, Ali Azmat, Shamoon Abbasi, Ayesha Khan and Kamran Lashari.

'Waar' has beaten Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Boss' and made a record profit of over Rs 40 million during the festive holidays.

The reason for its success is the storyline which is based on terror strikes. The profits even crossed that of 'Chennai Express' on the first day in Pakistan, thus becoming one of the major blockbusters of the year.
