Mumbai, Oct 24 (IANS): Subhash Ghai's banner Mukta Arts celebrated its 36th anniversary Thursday and on the occasion the filmmaker announced an interesting bouquet of three films -- social drama "Ishq De Maare", biopic "Sarabjit" and fun film "Idiot Nalayak Useless".
“We have a healthy story bank, so we thought we should get into productions in a bigger way. So on the anniversary, we are announcing the films," Ghai told IANS.
"Ishq De Maare" will star Dharmendra and his two sons - Sunny and Bobby Deol.
"‘Ishq De Maare’ is with the Deols. It’s a social family drama. It’s a beautiful film, beautiful script... more of Hrishikesh Mukerjee style. It will be directed by Neeraj Pathak,” said Ghai.
"Sarbajit" is about Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh who died in a Pakistan hospital in May, succumbing to his injuries after being attacked by his fellow inmates in jail. Ishwar Singh Muchhal will direct the biopic.
Talking about "Sarabjit", Ghai said: "I was so touched by the subject that I said I want to make it. People have accepted (athlete) Milkha Singh, so I think people are now liking biopics, so we contacted Sarabjit’s sister for the film. Scripting work is on and within 30 days we will finalise everything."
Ghai said that "Idiot Nalayak Useless" is a fun film by Ken Ghosh.
