Mangalore, Mar 24: The Shree Devi Institute of Social Work will be organizing its 8th annual seminar on Tuesday March 28 and Wednesday March 29 on ‘Re-examining Role of Professionalism with Specific Reference to Social Work’. This was informed at a press meet held here on Thursday March 23, by Padmini Pai, principal of the institute.
M R Vasudev, director, Mangalore Airport, will preside while, Lokesh, coordinator, MSW Course, Mangalore University, will be the chief guest.
Olinda Pereira, founder principal, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, will deliver a lecture on ‘personal qualities for fulfilling professional roles’.
The two-day seminar will see the participation of students from various social work institutes and representatives of non-governmental organizations, and those in the service sector. An action plan will be derived from the discussions held at the meet.
At the valedictory function, Honey Cabral, director, Karnataka Christian Communication Centre, will preside, while Hilda Rayappan, dean, St Aloysius Institute of Social Work, will be the chief guest.
