Mangalore, Mar 23: A tiff over a marriage proposal turned fatal resulting in the murder of the broker. The incident took place on Thursday, March 23 in  Derebail.

Mulla Saab, a marriage broker who tried to fix a marriage proposal, was murdered by three persons, while Imam Saab was injured.

The deceased Mulla Saab (41) who hails from Koppal district, along with Imam Saab, Chenne Gowda and Shanthe Gowda had come to Prashant Nagar in Derebail to get Imam Saab’s son’s wedding fixed with the latter’s sister’s daughter.

The quarrel surfaced Imam’s nephews, who were enraged with the proposal among blood relations, hit Imam. Mulla tried to argue with the three nephews of Imam condemning the assault of an elderly person.

The verbal fight turned physical and the three clubbed him to death with stones and iron roads.

The police team under the guidance of Panambur Cirlce Inspector Kodandaram and Kavoor SI A D Nagaraj arrested Imam’s nephews Jamaal Saab, Raja Saab and Chandu Saab.
