Mangalore, Mar 24: Someone once said ‘Examination is a big Botheration, for the Population of the Indian Nation, whose main Occupation is Cultivation by means of Irrigation.’
While it is a good exercise for learning the noun forms with the suffix ‘tion’, a good majority would agree that examinations were never a pleasurable process.
Over 4, 70,113 students of Karnataka state are appearing for the second pre-university examinations held in 679 centers across from today, Friday.
The students of undivided DK district too appeared for the exams which will be held till April 10.
Buzzing colleges adorned the ‘silent mantle’ after 9 am as all students put their thinking cap on to face the exams. In DK district a total of 20,508 students are expected to appear for the exams in 34 examination centres.
In Mangalore taluk 18 centers have been set up, In Bantwal 5, Puttur and Sullia 4 centers each and Belthangady 3 centers are set up.
Nothing could seem to disturb the concentration of the students in Mangalore on Friday
A total of 2, 60,238 candidates are expected to appear from the arts combination in the state, 1, 00,441 from commerce and 1, 09,434 students from the science combination. A total of 2, 55,683 candidates will take the examination in Kannada medium and 2, 14,430 in English medium.
Besides the regular mobile squads, video screening at examination centers were an added nuisance.
In Udupi district a total of 18 centers were set up. Of these 10 are in Udupi taluk, five in Kundapur taluk and three in Karkala taluk.
An examination cloud seems to have engulfed the district with the SSLC and PUC exams being conducted simultaneously.
